Vocational education and training is on spot when helping people to go ahead with their own careers and connects them to the labour markets on global basis. Utilizing new technologies increasingly stretch the limits of our imagination and new skills are needed to stay in track and same time to refine vocational training courses to make them effective and relevant.

In the Necoverse project our focus is to understand best way to utilize digitalization and how to benefit all new means in training approaches and taking it beyond expected to come up with concept of digital pedagogy.

Digital pedagogy allows to utilize real-time content and 3D assets along with pedagogical models to assist learning experience. Opportunity to visually tie training situation to close to realistic working environments and hands-on practices boost vocational training adaptation and utilization is limited only by imagination.

The Finpeda FVS metaverse is a platform to build up pedagogical approaches including methods for setup question and answer process for you learners. The FVS 3D is a browser-based multiuser learning environment, where learners individually or in small groups can participate into course and go through learning materials and content in virtual real environment. It can be track of learning tasks, what they walkthrough to learn. Material can be written, picture or video tutorials – or visual assets to interact as part of the learning experience all the way to certification system link up from your own learning environment. Meanwhile Turku UAS VR headset driven metaverse environment and brings simulation of actual robot in 3D digital twin format to operate it through VR headset.

In the Necoverse UC1 target is on Robot training and phase one is utilizing two induvial oriented pedagogical approaches namely Individual learning and hands-on learning tied to each others.

Trainee will move from (1) Individual learning corner with proven basic skills of Robot operations to (2) Hands-on learning & simulation to utilize learned skill and operate Digital Twin Robot in VR environment. Using 3D Digital Twin brings safe way to see and try out actual use of robot. When connecting now FVS and Turku UAS environment trainee can operate remotely robot basicly from any location due intuitive utilization of metaverse solutions with real-time connection.

The UC1 pilot is now launching this first phase to actual trial use and we are thrilled to have opportunity to measure and compare traditional and digital approaches with real life use case  experiments.

We keep you posted!
